A Simple Solution: Alta Lodge

Merry Christmas!

Chances are at least some of you are in the same boat as me. I have been hosting friends, family, and parties for weeks now. In this flurry, I have made unforgettable memories and had wonderful times. I also have been daydreaming about my recent stay at Alta Lodge.

Why?

Well, amidst all the fun parties, I noticed something. Someone is always working. I have run the dishwasher so many times I'm surprised it still works. While friends are drinking my wine, I'm cleaning the bathroom and making sure the towels are fresh. If I take a break, my family starts cooking. There is a hassle associated with the hosting.

How does this relate to Alta Lodge? Well, the Lodge is the opposite. Your job is to sit back and enjoy.

I arrived on Saturday and skied Alta all morning and afternoon. At check in, I was shown to a breath taking room. The view alone is a good reason to book a night. But there is so much more.

Spending the night in the canyon was so convenient. I was able to toss my car key on the counter, my skis in the free storage, my boots on the dryer in my room, and enjoy (more than one, I wasn't driving anywhere!) cocktail at the Sitzmark. As the sun set, the crowd changed from the apres set to the true mountain lovers, the people that make the resort run, and their friends and families.

I ate a dinner that was included in the room rate. I didn't have to think about where to go, what I had brought with me, what I needed. I had a full, incredible meal and dessert! The food truly will exceed your expectations.

I grabbed an extra blanket in my room and sat on the balcony watching the groomers work under the stars and full moon.

It was hard to go to bed, I was enjoying every second of the Lodge. So I went and found the hot tub.

At the recommendation of the staff, I returned to the hot tub first thing in the morning, what a great tip!

After another included meal, a giant full buffet and cook-to-order eggs for breakfast, I finally had to pull myself away to head back out the Lodge's backyard. Alta. Time for more skiing...

After experiencing it for myself, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather stay. You feel like part of a big happy family, and you aren't doing any work. If you've paid your dues over these holidays, treat yourself to a weekend at Alta Lodge.

There are so many more features it would take a week for me to tell you all about them - kids activities, the Deep Powder House ski shop, saunas, I mean, the list goes on and on.

But to me, the best part was the not thinking. I skied, then I relaxed. Unfortunately, I have to go cook dinner right now, it never ends. I'm determined to sell my future company on spending more nights at the Alta Lodge. I hope you get to try it too.

*Let it snow*
