Out With A Bang

I hope all of you had an amazing 4th of July here in Utah.

Mine was so far from anything I'd ever imagine possible!

After a thrilling night enjoying the Canyons fireworks, I went right to bed. I knew it was going to be a big day.

I woke up early on the 4th, and packed for a day of skiing at Snowbird!

As I discussed with Mike Gorell from the Salt Lake Tribune, this was a 3 in 39 year chance for Utah - to ski the 4th!

You can read his excellent article (and see some interesting photos...) here.

In my mind, you can't miss a chance like that. Especially considering this was the last day of lift serviced skiing for the state.

Early enough to miss the parking lot filling up, I took the tram up and enjoyed a few super fun runs.

It did get crowded, and I loved celebrating the special holiday with so many happy faces and some very interesting outfits!

I took off to head back to Park City for the rest of the 4th with my amazing friends, first at City Park, and then we all enjoyed the Park City fireworks too!

So tell me: Did you ski the Bird? Get a Tshirt to prove it? I did!

And now, Utah, are we finally ready to get in to summer?

It is crazy to say in July that we have just wrapped up our 2010-11 season.

And are you, like me, already thinking about next winter?

*Let it snow*
