Utah Is Open

I got to ski! I got to ski! Did you get out this weekend?

I have to confess: it's early and I have been hanging out with so many non-ski folks, I was all "meh, who cares the BCC is open?" But sure enough, Saturday rolled around and guess who was bright eyed and bushy tailed before her alarm even went off!?!?! It is unreal to me that I can struggle to make work by around 8:30, but the lifts were turning, my heart knew it, and I was up at legit 6:45 or so.

I didn't prepare since I thought I would skip, so my morning was wandering around my place looking for ski gear. Finally suited up, I hopped in my friend's ride and it was just like I remembered, an excited talkative exhilarating feeling to head to the mountains. It was a bright sunny gorgeous day full of laughs and gleeful turns. Solitude had GREAT snow. I hated myself for not skiing there at all (sorry Solitude) last season and it was a delight to open up the season with them. The mountain wasn't full - as per usual - and with perfect weather and perfect company I was reminded how there isn't a better feeling. How all spring and summer there was something missing. How it's still FALL, but here we are, with resorts that know we need them and those glorious spinning lifts. Cheers times a million to my PowPals for making me get out and get some hot laps in. So very worth it.

Even if you don't think you're ready - this is the way to ease in to the season. Some nice laps in sunny weather preps you for the cold crazy days coming soon.

Tell me - did you head to Brighton or Solitude? How many lift serviced days do you have? What are you looking forward to most this season?

*Let it snow*
