I’m so excited to update this post because it means we're skiing! It’s also my chance to share the new Ski Bus schedules plus rider tips so you can help reduce the impact on our beautiful canyons.

Did you know that riders with a ski resort season pass can ride UTA's ski bus for free? Contact your resort for details.

Cash fare for ski bus is only $4.50 each way (remember to bring exact change). The cost of any TRAX, bus or UTA FrontRunner ticket counts toward your ski bus fare so you don’t need to spend twice.

Even better, you don’t have to worry about parking and they drop you off right at the front, so no hauling your gear from a parking spot in the “back forty.”

Improvements to Salt Lake Ski Bus Service - Alta, Brighton, Snowbird, Solitude

For the 2016-17 ski season, UTA is offering new and improved ski bus service to the resorts in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. The new ski service increases the number of trips to the resorts, provides all day service and expands parking capacity. Additionally, Ski Bus serves Powder Mountain, Snowbasin, Deer Valley, Park City, and Sundance. Service to Snowbasin begins December 17th, while service to all others begins December 18th. Read this UTA post for MORE DETAILS on all locations.

The improved Cottonwood Canyon Ski Bus service could start on the weekends as early as Dec. 2, depending on opening dates for the ski resorts in the Cottonwood Canyons. Then regular service will kick on December 18th.

Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon Early Ski Service Calendar - Routes 953, 972 and 994

Friday-Sunday, December 2-4

Friday-Sunday, Dec. 9-11

Friday-Saturday, Dec. 16-17

Regular ski service will start at all participating resorts on Sunday, Dec. 18. Service on route 677 to Snowbasin will start Dec. 17.

The following hotels are on or near Ski Bus routes. Other downtown hotels require a connection. Please confirm with your hotel where the nearest stop is located. We do our best to create a comprehensive and accurate list. There might be gaps, but this should give you a head start. Unfortunately, UTA does not have a master list available for this area.

The newly-configured ski service in the Cottonwood Canyons:

  • Increases the number of canyon ski service trips by 35 percent
  • Starts service earlier (6 a.m.) so you can make first chair
  • Expands parking capacity
  • Provides ski service all day, with 15-minute frequency during peak times.
  • Improves connections with TRAX and FrontRunner, and Route 220, providing increased all-day ski service access to riders from downtown, the University of Utah and other areas of the valley.

Ski bus routes will be streamlined to three routes, routes 953972 and 994 with better connections to TRAX and FrontRunner. Bus routes 951, 952 and 954, 960 and 962 have been eliminated. Other bus and rail schedule changes will still take place on our scheduled Change Day, Sunday, Dec. 18. Those changes are posted online at www.rideuta.com.
