For my day job, I run an awesome social network about pets. A little while back, I was up at Brighton and we interviewed Patrick Ives about his avalanche rescue dog Jake. Thought you might like to hear about it here.

When looking at Jake’s collar, you might notice a bunch of different badges. They tell the story of a working dog. He is avalanche rescue trained, has his shots, and a host of other certifications and registrations. To say that this dog has seen action would be an understatement. Patrick has been part of more then 250 backcountry avalanche rescues in the 30+ years that he has been working as a patroller up at Brighton.
