Getting all jacked up for ski season

According to Wasatch Snow Forecast there is another storm on the way by the end of the week.  We are actually starting to build a bit of a base at our higher elevations, so much so that even I’m considering going out for a turn or two on Friday if it dumps. I’ve even heard tales of a young lady who skied Main Chute at Alta last weekend. That’s just crazy!

When it comes to the long term winter forecast be sure to check out the last part of Wasatch Snow Forecast’s latest blog entitled “Unsettled”.  They were kind enough to give us some quality insight into what we could possibly expect during the mid winter time frame and let’s just say I like what I’m hearing...

In the mean time, if you’re not quite ready to throw the rock skis on, another way to get fired up for ski season would be to check out “Into the Mind” this Thursday at the Jim Santy auditorium at 7:00 pm or 9:30 in Park City.  The cost is $12 per ticket but after watching this trailer I was sold. Also showing October 10th and 11th at Taggart Student Center Auditorium in Logan, UT.

The timing of this screening couldn’t be better. Just as the film is set to go off, the forecast is calling for snow in the Wasatch.  Walking into a killer ski flick while it’s snowing out, in October nonetheless, is sure to get you jacked up!

Another flick that’s a MUST see is “McConkey”. In my opinion, this guy is the Father of modern day powder skiing. Shane left us far to early in life but he lives on in all of us every time we make a pow turn on big fat skis. This guy is a legend, a hero in the ski community, so why not pay your respects and check out Match Stick Productions latest film this Friday in Park City. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

The final movie you won't want to miss this week is "Ticket to Ride" by Warren Miller. Showing October 11th and 12th at Abravanel Hall-Salt Lake City, UT.

For all the other ski films and locations check out the Yeti’s earlier post
