Monster Dump Monday!

It’s 5 am Monday morning and there is a reason I’m up so early. It dumped yesterday and when it snows that much over night I just can’t get a good nights sleep. I wake up with a level of excitement that can’t be matched.  The weather report is looking incredible! Yesterday’s storm was a serious over-producer! We love these kind of storms in Utah. Initial forecasts were calling for 4-9”, many resorts in the Wasatch actually ended up above the magical 12” mark.  You know what that means? Monster Dump Monday’s are back!

This storm couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I just logged some serious hours working at the restaurant ( Yuki Arashi Sushi) during the Sundance Film Festival.  This year's festival was everything we dreamed it could be and more. Sales were record breaking! The only thing the festival was missing was snow.  Every year it seams like it just dumps and dumps during the 10 day festival.  Usually you can find me in a full on powder panic, just loosing my mind because I’m stuck at work on the deepest of powder days. Not this year though. Sundance 2013 brought incredibly beautiful weather to Park City, deep blue sky, warm temperatures, simply great people watching weather. Now that it’s over let’s pack up that sunshine and save it for next weekend because this week's forecast calls for snow, snow, snow.   In addition to the snow we received on Sunday. The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has now placed Utah under a new Winter Storm Warning that runs all the way until Thursday morning!  This warning is for an additional 1-2 feet!

LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE AT TIMES THROUGH THIS EVENING.  SNOW WILL BECOME STEADY AND HEAVY AT TIMES LATE THIS EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY.  ANOTHER ROUND OF STEADY AND HEAVY SNOW IS FORECAST WEDNESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

Here are some links to my favorite Wasatch Weather links. They will help you stay on a head of the weather.
