New Year's Day at Gorgoza Tubing Park

by Powderhound Matt January 4 2012 0 Comments

So it may not be dumping like last year but there is no way you are going to keep the Park City Powder Posse from having fun on snow this winter. After rounding up 15 of our closest friends, we set out on a mission to break the land speed record for snow tubing. While I'm not sure if we broke any records, just know that I did everything in my power to keep that camera still on the way down. As you'll see I wasn't all that successful.

This is now the second time I've been to Gorgozaand for whatever reason, this time blew away my first experience.  Maybe it was because the course was super fast, or because our group of friends just rocks, either way it was just a great time and I recommend you all get out there and enjoy it.  I dare someone to put together a group of their fastest ten tubers and challenge us to a race! If you're looking for the fastest lane on the hill make sure you hit up the track that is second from the end. That thing was blazing fast!

After a tough, and I mean tough afternoon on the hill, we decided the only way to properly finish off the day would be to head to the only ski-in/ski- out Whiskey Distillery in the world.  Located directly below the Town Lift at Park City Mountain Resort on Park Avenue. Upon reaching the High West Distillery, the crew put down plate after plate of local favorites.  If you come in with a larger party like we did be sure to get the whiskey cheese fondue, its a can't miss. Also don't forget to sample some of their whiskeys. Rendezvous Rye is probably my favorite but you really can't go wrong with anyone of them.  The cocktail of choice that night seemed to be the Dead Man's Boots,   The only mistake would be if you ordered just one.  Let's just say we didn't...
