While the Olympics, X-Games & Dew Tour continue to progress the level of skiing and snowboarding in terms of triple corks and cab nolliebirds, there is another side to contest riding...or the "nontest" as it may be reffered to. Events like Snowbasin's Rail Jam give jammers of all levels the chance to try out some new maneuvers in a stress-free environment. It's all about having fun.
Contestants took part in several different events, including games of SNOW (similar to PIG in basketball), best backscratcher/method, spin-to-win, high-ollie and best overall run. Results weren't as important as much as enjoying the weather and getting comfortable on the snow again. Prizes were awarded to everybody within 100 feet of the rail garden. Score!
Snowbasin will also host the first Friday Night Jib Fights on December 16th. Ten nighttime rail jams with a cash prize for the open class. Thanks to Jason Dyer and the Snowbasin Terrain Park Staff for putting on an awesome event. Stay wild.
