Take a break from the valley heat and head to the mountains this summer. Once there, you'll find great food, mountain biking, music, festivals and other summer activities. Below you'll find a summary of what you can expect from each resort. Pstttt, if you're looking for more information on the outdoor music scene, we've put together a full list of Utah's outdoor concerts.

Alta Ski Area

Alta offered lift-served hiking last season but will be returning to only foot-served in 2019 with 15 miles of hiking trails accessible from the Wildcat base area. The Summer Road will be open with an amenity fee.

Beaver Mountain

Beaver Moutain is a bit sleepy in the summer, but thats what makes it a pretty awesome place to visit. With camping spots, RV hookups and yurt rentals, it's the perfect escape for your family. Hiking and mountain biking are encouraged!

Brian Head Ski Resort

Summer fun at Brian Head Resort starts Saturday, June 22, with events and activities happening every weekend through September 7th. Brian Head has a full summer of live music events, mountain biking, bike races and festivals, car shows, good food and family-friendly activities planned to help guests beat the heat and enjoy some mountain time.

Brighton

Beat the heat at Brighton Resort with a multitude of hiking and exploring options. Kids ages eight to 16 can sign up for Camp Brighton, a week-long day camp with a focus on fun and educational activities to promote campers’ creativity, perseverance and collaboration.

Cherry Peak

The 2019 Cherry Peak Summer Concert Series features some great performers, including Colbie Caillet and Rodney Atkins. A full line up can be found on their website. Additional summer activities include horseback riding, disc golf, Redneck Waterslide and mountain biking.

Deer Valley Resort

Deer Valley Resort is filled with nonstop activity such as lift-served mountain biking, hiking and scenic chairlift rides, a Summer Adventure Camp for children and music-filled evenings at the Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. Mountain biking offerings expand this season with the opening of Undertow, a new intermediate flow trail on Bald Eagle Mountain accessed via the Homestake Express chairlift. Dining is an integral part of the Deer Valley Difference, so make sure to take advantage of mountain-side deck views and delish snacks for your adventure.

The Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater is home to three unique concert series, the Deer Valley Concert Series and two nonprofit series, the Utah Symphony’s Deer Valley® Music Festival and the Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series. The 2019 Deer Valley Concert Series kicks off on June 30 with Michael Franti & Spearhead | Ziggy Marley and concludes on September 7 with Squeeze. Deer Valley Concert Series



Eagle Point

Eagle Point Resort’s summer operations are slated to open June 22. In addition to mountain biking and hiking, Eagle Point is also hosting its second-annual Mini Enduro on August 17. The race is primarily geared towards new riders as an introduction to big mountain bike racing.

Park City Mountain

From mountain biking to hiking, mountain coasters and mini golf, the summer activities at Park City Mountain are seemingly endless. Take advantage of the all-in-one Adventure Pass to make the most of your time.

Park City Mountain Village summer operations begin May 24 with a variety of outdoor summer activities for families and adventure-seekers:

  • One of the world’s longest Alpine Slides
  • 4,000ft Alpine Coaster
  • The ZipRider and Flying Eagle Zip Lines
  • Scenic Lift Rides
  • Mountain Biking
  • Miniature golf
  • Kids’ Adventure Zone offers attractions for children weighing between 30 – 100 lbs and approximately 2 – 11 years old, including a small kids’ zip line, kids’ tubing and a kids’ challenge course.
Canyons Village activities begin June 15:

  • Canyons Golf (opens May 24, 2019)

Park City Mountain will once again host a series of free, live music concert series on Thursday and Saturday evenings July 6 - August 24. This year’s performers include Blitzen Trapper on August 3, The Honey Hounds on August 17 and The Motet on August 24. Find a full concert lineup here.

Powder Mountain

With over 24 miles of trails and more expansions in the works, there’s plenty of hiking and biking to be done around Powder Mountain.

The Powder Mountain Trail Trials return this year with 5k races on July 17, July 24th, July 31 and August 7. PowMow is also hosting Wildflower Trailfest, a women’s only mountain bike event with race and clinic options.

Snowbasin Resort

Snowbasin’s popular Blues, Brews and BBQ concert series returns with crowd favorites and powerhouse bands like Andy Frasco, Reckless Kelly, Keller Williams, Dead Winter Carpenters, Kris Lager, North Mississippi All-Stars and more. The free, live music rocks Earl’s Lodge patio and lawn every Sunday between 12 - 5:30 p.m. from June 9 - September 8.

Movies on the Mountain will return for another year at Snowbasin featuring films like Space Jam, Spiderman, The Karate Kid and more! Bring your favorite blanket or chairs and cozy up for a family-friendly movie under the stars. Snacks, food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Snowbasin will continue to offer lift-served hiking and mountain biking along with mini golf, disc golf and more.

Snowbird

Snowbird is a killer location to bring the family during summer! Summer activities include mountain biking, mountain coaster, Woodward Wrecktangle, alpine slide, ropes course, guided hikes and scenic rides on the tram and Peruvian chairlift.


For a fall escape, time your visit around Oktoberfest, which runs every Saturday and Sunday from mid-August to mid-October, including Labor Day Monday.

Solitude Mountain Resort

Summer at Solitude begins June 14 and will continue through October 6! Enjoy lift-served mountain biking and hiking with stunning views, scenic chairlift rides, a beautiful 18-hole disc golf course and more. Solitude is also hosting stops for the Mid-Week Mountain Bike Series and the Wasatch Trail Run Series. Check out the resort’s event calendar for the latest information.

Solitude offers several summer dining options including the Stone Haus Pizzeria & Creamery (open June 7) and Honeycomb Grill (open June 13) with unbeatable mountain views, or stop by Thirsty Squirrel (open June 14).

Free music nearly every Sunday, June 30 - September 29 with $2 ice cream from the Stone Haus.

Sundance Mountain Resort

Sundance opens for summer operations on May 17. Enjoy a ride on the two-mile-long scenic zip line tour, check out an art class, relax with mountain top yoga, fly fish in the Provo River, ride the chairlift under the light of a full moon and much more. Check out the resort’s event calendar for a full list of activities.

The popular BlueBird Cafe Concert Series returns with some of Nashville’s most renowned singers, songwriters, and musicians. Concerts take place in July and August. The Sundance Summer Theatre will perform Mamma Mia! With shows running July 18 – August 10: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights at 8 p.m.
