Who’s ready for ski season? Resorts are announcing their opening days, videos of powder skiing on Halloween are circulating online, and on Sunday and Monday we had snow in the Salt Lake Valley…what else do you need? The season is so close we can almost feel the refreshing chill of snow hitting our faces!
There’s still time to get in shape for the season. University of Utah Health Care and Ski Utah want to make sure you’re ready with some simple tips that will physically prepare you to get out on the mountain:
Cardio – Just 30 minutes a day of any kind can help you get ready.
Leg Strength – Squats/lunges/wall sits to help reduce the burn.
Core – Plank & bridge exercises are always important to help maintain control and keep the back healthy.
Don’t forget to stretch both before and after your day on the hill! Stretching helps reduce the chance of injury.
After taking care of your body, the only thing that is left is making sure you have the gear and the tickets to get you on the lifts. UUHC and Ski Utah are teaming up to give away either a pair of Rossignol skis or a Rossignol snowboard.
