Snowbird, Utah – Halloween and November
bring two weekends of free Aerial Tram rides at Snowbird with a
donation to the Utah Food Bank. Snowbird Customer Appreciation Days
will take place Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 31-Nov. 1, and Saturday and Sunday, Nov.
7-8, weather permitting. Please note that this event occurs later this
year due to routine maintenance on the Aerial Tram. Guests are
encouraged to come dressed in costume over Halloween weekend and “trick
or treat” on the Tram ride to Snowbird’s 11,000 foot Hidden Peak.
One can of food equals one free Tram ride per person during Customer Appreciation Days. In lieu of food, a $2 donation may
be made for a Tram ride. All food donations benefit the Utah Food Bank
and monetary donations benefit the Wasatch Adaptive Sports program.
With
unemployment and food stamp caseload numbers in Utah at or approaching
record levels, the need for donations is greater than ever. The Utah
Food Bank is requesting specific items in the categories of hygiene
(toothpaste, soap, diapers), canned food (peanut butter, tuna, chili,
soup, vegetables, fruit), boxed food (macaroni and cheese, boxed
dinners, cake mix) and dry food (beans, pasta, rice).
The
Tram will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both weekends. Bring food to
the front entrance of the Snowbird Center, accessed by Snowbird Entry
2. Cash donations will be accepted at the Snowbird Center ticket office.
Offering the longest season in Utah, Snowbird is scheduled to open for the 2009-10 season Saturday, Nov. 21; this opening date could change depending on snowfall and skiers are advised to check www.snowbird.com for the latest updates. Last winter Snowbird had a 194-day season with skiing and riding from Nov. 7 to May 31.
Guests
can enjoy a Halloween getaway at Snowbird with the Scary Aerie lodging

at the Aerie Restaurant with festive-themed cuisine. Packages start at
$89 per person/double occupancy and can be booked by calling (800) 232-9542.
