DEER VALLEY RESORT, Park City, UT (December 6, 2010)— Stein Eriksen Lodge’s decorated executive chef, Zane Holmquist, is scheduled to appear on NBC’s TODAY—the highest rated national morning show—Wednesday, Dec. 8 for its TODAY’S Kitchen segment. This is the second consecutive year Chef Zane has been invited to appear on TODAY’s cooking segment.
During the in-studio segment in New York City, Chef Holmquist will showcase the Stein’s Fondue, a signature items from the Lodge’s acclaimed Glitretind restaurant. The fondue is a popular après ski items at the Lodge and is ideal for at-home winter entertaining. Chef Holmquist will also feature a chocolate dessert fondue on the show.

As executive chef, Chef Holmquist consistently leads the talented food and beverage team at Stein Eriksen Lodge to award-winning heights. Helping the Lodge’s Glitretind restaurant earn the coveted Forbes Four-Star award, Holmquist displays his culinary versatility through a variety of dishes, such as Seared Fois Gras and Crisp Bananas, Braised Utah Boneless Kobe Short Ribs and the famous Stein’s Wild Game Chili. The majority of Chef Holmquist’s succulent dishes feature local produce and organic products.
Holmquist has been invited to showcase his work at the renowned James Beard House and his Glitretind restaurant at Stein’s has received the coveted Santé Restaurant award, AAA Four-Diamond, Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, DiRONA Award and Zagat Exceptional Rating.
The chef’s passion for food extends to his enthusiasm for community involvement. Holmquist is a partner with Chef’s Garden in their Veggie U program, an organization committed to fostering a synergy between educational, nutritional and agricultural goals to combat the rising epidemic of childhood obesity. Veggie U is dedicated to the creation and distribution of curricula nationally, with a focus on making wise food choices, combating adolescent and juvenile disease and attaining an understanding of sustainable agriculture. Holmquist is also a participant in the annual Taste of the Nation, a culinary event to support the fight to end hunger.
