Less Work More Play -Utah is the most accessible ski destination in the U.S.
SALT LAKE CITY - Salt Lake City International Airport is Delta Air Lines’ second largest hub with 114 destinations receiving nonstop service. More than half of the U.S. population lives within a 2.5 hour flight of the state. Once visitors get to Salt Lake, their traveling is over, as they have 11 world-class resorts to choose from within a one hour drive. Less driving means more time for skiing, not to mention skiing in Utah is more environmentally friendly as the accessibility eliminates the need for constant driving. Our resorts also provide a plethora of dining, evening and other entertainment options conveniently satisfying your travel needs.
Utah's resorts are so accessible that visitors can ski or ride on their arrival and departure day. Eleven resorts are within 60 miles, so even those who leave the east coast at breakfast time can be on the slopes in the afternoon. Plus, they can pack in some vertical on their final day then hop an afternoon flight home, which totals up to an extra day of vacation fun. For skiers who base themselves in downtown Salt Lake City, the airport is conveniently located ten minutes away.
Salt Lake City International Airport is also the gateway to five national parks and 100 golf courses. Major renovations are underway to make the terminals more user friendly and efficient.
For international travelers, a translation service is installed throughout the airport via the telephone system for on-the-spot translation of 250 languages. International travelers will also want to anticipate the new addition of nonstop flights to Paris via Salt Lake International.
Ski for Free with the Quick START Program
"We can think of no better way to illustrate Park City's accessibility to three distinct mountain resorts than by allowing guests to ski or snowboard for free the same day they arrive in Utah," said Bill Malone, executive director of the Park City Chamber & Visitors Bureau.
To prove it, Park City offers its Quick START (Ski Today And Ride Today) promotion. Visitors who fly in can receive a complimentary lift ticket that's good at The Canyons Resort, Deer Valley Resort or Park City Mountain Resort for the day they arrive. With lots of before-noon flights and the three resorts within 36 miles of the airport - mostly by interstate highway - it's easy to enjoy arrival day on the slopes. To receive a complimentary lift ticket, guests must visit www.parkcityinfo.com for program details.
Also, at Alta, just 32 miles from the airport, skiing from the Sunnyside lift is absolutely free every day from 3 - 4 p.m. It's perfect for incoming skiers to ease into their vacation.
For skiers who are looking to warm up their legs, or little and can not arrive until later in the day, many of our resorts offer affordable night skiing opportunities. Brighton Resort, Powder Mountain, Wolf Mountain, and Park City Mountain resort all illuminate their brilliant snow making night skiing accessible, safe and fun.
