Sundance Resort Selected by National Geographic Traveler Magazine For the First Annual Stay List of Top 150 Properties
Sundance, UT - The editors of National Geographic Traveler Magazine have selected the Sundance Resort to be included in the first annual Stay List. The list debuts in the April 2008 edition of National Geographic Traveler Magazine. The Stay List includes the top 150 properties in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean that exemplify authenticity and a sense of place.
The award takes note of hotels with “location-inspired architecture, ambience and amenities, eco-stewardship, and an ethic of giving back to community,” according to National Geographic Traveler. More than 600 properties were nominated for the award by travel experts. Upon further research, editors narrowed the list to 150 properties.
“It’s thrilling to see how many folks in the accommodations business truly care about offering guests a sense-of-place experience,” says Traveler Senior Editor Sheila Feldman Buckmaster. “The hotels and inns that made it onto the list give back to the community, work to conserve and sustain, and day in and day out celebrate the very best that their destinations have to offer.”
Sundance, the picturesque destination resort, founded by Robert Redford in 1969, is a year round resort at the base of 12,000-foot Mt. Timpanogos offering an array of mountain activities including snow sports, hiking, mountain biking, fly-fishing, and horseback riding as well as unique offerings such as art classes, exhibits and periodic film screenings.
“Sundance appreciates being included in this list that recognizes and validates our commitment to authenticity, community, a stewardship of the land and a sense of place,” commented Chad Linebaugh, Co General Manager, Sundance Resort. “The fact that this award is presented to properties that represents these values makes it especially meaningful.”
