ENJOY AN EPICUREAN EXTRAVANGANZA AT THE 4th ANNUAL PARK CITY FOOD & WINE CLASSIC
Savory Event Features 500+ Wines, World-Class Chefs, Food & Wine Seminars and More
PARK CITY, UTAH — Enjoy an epicurean extravaganza this summer at the 4th Annual Park City Food & Wine Classic, July 10-13. This premier destination event promises to exhilarate the senses of aficionados and novices alike, bringing together master winemakers, culinary experts and distinguished guests to play, wine and dine amid Park City's luxurious, relaxing, mountain-town setting.
Throughout the festival, guests can participate in a number of wine tastings and pairings, gourmet dinners, educational seminars and culinary competitions. The festival also provides a rare opportunity to meet with owners, winemakers and senior representatives from wineries around the globe. Last year’s festival saw more than 60,000 wine, spirit, beer and food samplings in Park City.
“The Park City Food & Wine Classic is designed to appeal to the devoted connoisseur and novice alike,” said Doug Larson, principal of TeamSage Productions, producer of the event. “And whether someone attends a handful of events or participates in everything the festival has to offer, they will walk away with a greater appreciation of fine food and wine.”
The festival kicks off Thursday with A Toast to Remember, held at the spectacular, world-renown Stein Eriksen Lodge. A Toast to Remember provides unique opportunities to spend one-on-one time with favorite winemakers and delve into a variety of wines, focusing on reserves but also showcasing some everyday selections. Heavy appetizers and live entertainment will make this dazzling evening second to none. The event also features a high-end auction benefiting the Alzheimer's Association. To date, TeamSage Productions has generated more than $92,000 for local organizations from the wine festivals. From its entire line-up, the company has helped raise nearly $700,000 to date.
Friday's main attraction is the Stroll of Park City, when the town's charming, historic Main Street comes to life from 3-6 p.m. with suppliers offering samples of different wine and spirit selections and delicious food for guests to enjoy as they leisurely stroll the quaint downtown. The Stroll provides an unparalleled atmosphere for an afternoon of carefree wine tasting. Also that day is the 3rd Annual Park City Food & Wine Classic Golf Tournament, held at the picturesque Park City Golf Course.
The festival culminates with its signature event – the Toast of Park City Grand Tasting. Set at the Forum at The Canyons Resort, the Grand Tasting will showcase more than 500 wines including an impressive gathering of California, domestic and international vineyards, gourmet food purveyors, live entertainment, and an array of luxury-related vendors. Attendees also will enjoy the Viking Outdoor Kitchen featuring cooking demonstrations and celebrity chef contests. Last year, local Park City celebrated chef Zane Holmquist and Michael DeMaria, chef and owner of 6 Spoons Hospitality in Phoenix, Ariz., delighted thousands with their mouthwatering fare. This year's featured chefs – including Diane Sheya, owner of Ivy House Herbs in Salt Lake City, and Dustin Clark, executive chef of Wildwood in Portland, Oregon – are sure to do the same.
Throughout the weekend, festival patrons have the opportunity to attend several winemakers dinners at area restaurants. Wine industry experts, mixologists, sommeliers and renowned chefs also host a number of wine and food seminars. Seminar topics range from the proper way to swirl and swish to comparing and contrasting wines from regions around the world. Others review food and wine pairings to supply attendees with recipes and knowledge for home entertaining.
“The festival promises to be a truly memorable celebration and a great opportunity to sample hundreds of the finest wines from around the globe as well as sumptuous cuisine from acclaimed chefs,” said Larson. “I honestly can’t think of a more appealing event to attend. It promises to be an amazing, unique experience set in a stunning, world-class mountain destination.”
The Park City Food and Wine Classic offers a variety of tickets, packages and pass options. For more information regarding tickets, packages or event details please contact the festival organizers at 877.328.2783 or visit www.ParkCityFoodandWineClassic.com.
