Two Week Ski Break and Budget Conscious

Q. I've got a two-week break in jobs next month, and I want to ski every day of it. Where do you think I would find the most slopes, so I don't get bored skiing the same trails every day I'm also trying to do this on a tight budget. Am I just dreaming? A.A., Washington.
A year ago, I spent three weeks skiing at Aspen, Colo., and I think it took me the entire time to tackle all the named trails at the resort's four ski mountains. Back then, I was able to stay in a cheap dorm and dine on chili and burgers. But nothing is cheap in Aspen these days.
Your best bet now is Utah. Rent a car, stay in a budget motel in Salt Lake City and drive each day to one of the ski mountains within 30 to 60 minutes of the city.
Park City Mountain Resort should keep you busy for a couple of days, and then you can move on to its upscale neighbor, Deer Valley (for a splurge), or to its more affordable neighbor, The Canyons. Snowbird and Alta make challenging twosome that share a deep canyon locale. Then move on to another canyon and ski a couple of days at Solitude and Brighton, favorites of the locals.
If, after all this, you are still looking for new terrain to keep you interested, treat yourself to a day at Robert Redford's Sundance, just under an hour from the airport. Then start the circuit again at Park City. Details: 801-534-4900, saltlake.org.
