Wasatch Wildflower Festival

Meeting place: Alta Ski Area, Town Park, parking at Wildcat Parking lot Walks depart as groups fill and will return to registration area by 2 PM. Kids Walks: Walks along the base designed with kids in mind, with fun and interactive wildflower activities along the way! Discover what wildflowers need to grow and thrive. Duration: Less than 1 hour. Kids must be accompanied by an adult guardian. Last walk 1 PM. Easy Walks: Walk takes place streamside along the gentle terrain of the base area through willows, wetlands, and meadows on the Lower Albion Meadows Trail. Duration: About 1 hour. Last walk 1 PM. Moderate Walks: GUIDED This walk offers a wonderful variety of flower viewing habitats including meadows, shaded spruce-fir stands, nears streams, and sunny, rocky slopes. Duration: About 1 ½ hours. Last walk departs by 12 PM. Advanced Walks: North-facing slopes allow for wildflower viewing through a variety of habitats. Duration: About 1 ½ hours. Last walk departs by 10 AM. American Sign Language Walk: Route dependent upon preferences of group. Duration: 1 to 1 ½ hours. Walk departs at 10:00 AM. The Wasatch Wildflower Festival was created by Alta Community Enrichment (ACE), a tight-knit community of Alta friends and was funded by completely by the Alta Lodge. The idea sprung up after the community was discussing how they wanted to share their beautiful environment, flowers, food, musicians and the community of Alta with each other and the rest of the world. The first festival was in 1996 and was one of ACE’s first events, it included a wildflower walk, live music and food.
