Saturday Concert: Trigger Hippy

Canyons will once again have our amazing and FREE Saturday Summer Concert Series. Each Saturday, beginning July 19th and ending August 30th, Canyons will have FREE live music starting at 6:00pm. The Cabriolet will be open until 9:30 pm on concert Saturdays. Blankets, picnics and chairs will not be allowed in the concert venue until 4:00pm. And due to the popularity of these concerts, we would appreciate carpooling, taking public transportation or riding your bicycle to the show! About Trigger Hippy: Trigger Hippy is a powerful, soul-infused rock and roll band founded by Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman featuring twin lead vocals from multi-platinum recording artist Joan Osborne and singer-songwriter Jackie Greene who also plays guitar and keyboards. Rounding out the group are lead guitarist Tom Bukovac, who co-produced the EP with the band, and bassist Nick Govrik. According to The Memphis Commercial Appeal, the bands material draws “…heavily from the members’ shared love of R&B and soul — lots of Al Green and Stax, some old blues covers and a little bit of Led Zeppelin and Little Feat thrown in for good measure.” Built for the stage, Trigger Hippy’s early warm up shows have already garnered acclaim. This new creative collective of musicians will announce extensive touring soon, including January 2014 dates. 2014 Summer Concert Series: Saturday, July 19: Trigger Hippy Saturday, July 26: Nahko & Medicine For The People w/ Dustin Thomas Saturday, August 2: Honey Island Swamp Band Saturday, August 9: The White Buffalo w/ Triggers and Slips Saturday, August 16: Earphunk Saturday, August 23: Dumpstaphunk Saturday, August 30: The Slide Brothers Special Notes on Chairs: Due to the steepness of our new concert venue, guests may bring their own chair to our concerts provided that the chair height is 9" or less. “Low back” chairs are therefore allowed, but camping chairs and chairs with sharp legs are not allowed. There are no exceptions to this rule and guests bringing chairs that do not meet this requirement will be asked to take them back to their vehicles. Chairs meeting the height requirements are available for purchase at Canyon Mountain Sports.
