Vail Resorts Echo Day is Vail Resorts’ annual company-wide volunteer day. Whether forging new trails or helping restore a town park, Echo Day allows employees of all ages (and their friends and family, too!) to rally around a local community need. Established in 2010, Echo Day has allowed a total of 4,622 volunteers to give 16,101 hours of time to four years worth of projects.
Join us for the fifth annual Vail Resorts Echo Day on Saturday, September 20 with Canyons Resort, Mountain Trails Foundation and Wasatch Trails Alliance in building the WOW trail. Join your Canyons friends and staff at the WOW Trail that connects Wasatch and Summit Counties.
About the event:
Wasatch Over Wasatch (or “WOW”), will build a non-motorized loop trail from the Pine Creek Campground in Wasatch Mountain State Park up through Pine Canyon, to the north end of the state park and Summit County, then back down Dutch Canyon to the Dutch Canyon Trailhead and back across the ridge to Pine Canyon. The route will complete a leg of the Perimeter Trail for Wasatch County, and it will also link Wasatch and Summit counties and connect to seven other trails and communities in the area.
Pack some work gloves, plenty of water and come ready to get dirty! Trail building normally involves clearing brush and grass, moving small rocks and digging to the dirt level of the ground surface. All abilities are welcome – there’s a vast array of projects and types of work available to accommodate all abilities. Children ages five and older are welcome to attend and activities for youth will be provided at each project. Kids ages seven and older are welcome to work alongside their parents.
