On Saturday, Aug 19, the 45th Snowbird Oktoberfest will host the first annual Snowbird Bratwurst Eating Championship, an official sanctioned Major League Eating (MLE) event, featuring top-ranked Major League Eaters competitors from around the United States.
Local Utah company, Colisimo’s, will provide the sausage to be consumed at Snowbird during the competition. The Snowbird Bratwurst contest includes a field of MLE stars and a couple local amateurs who will take aim at a $4,000 cash purse and a stomach full of delicious Colisimo bratwurst. Competitors will have 10 minutes to eat as many bratwurst as possible.
A handful of aspiring local competitive eaters can have their shot at glory, competing with the heavyweight eaters in attendance by registering at snowbird.com. One noteworthy competitor is Miki Sudo, the No. 1 ranked female eater in the world. Her most significant accomplishments are her victories in the women's competition at Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
