20 RESTAURANTS VYING FOR TITLE IN PARK CITY’S SUMMER COCKTAIL CONTEST

PARK CITY, Utah (June 28, 2016) — No need to wait for November! Election season has already arrived in Park City with return of the Park City Area Restaurant Association Summer Cocktail Contest. 

 

From July 1 to July 31, taste and then vote online for your favorite libations, rating each on a 1-to-10 scale judging both flavor and presentation. 

 

Twenty bars and restaurants are competing this year. Cast ballots online by visiting the PCARA website, www.parkcityrestaurants.com. One vote may be cast per email address. 

 

“Last year was such a blast, and we’re so excited to be fielding so many competitors in the cocktail contest this year,” PCARA executive director Ginger Ries said. “Last year’s creations were all a delight – you’ll definitely want to visit all our participating bars and restaurants to make sure you try them all!”

 

The winning cocktail and its creator will be featured in a marketing campaign following the contest leading into PCARA’s popular Fall “Dine About” event. He or she will also walk away with $200 and, in a town with more than 30 top-notch bars and restaurants, some serious bragging rights.

Molly Blooms Gastropub: Mulligan Limonata

Powder at Waldorf Astoria Park City: Blackberry Jalapeno Margarita

Red Rock Junction: Farm & Feed

Red Tail Grill:  Greens Fee

Royal Street Café: Strawberry Scrub Collins

Silver Star Café: The LaBounty Bourbon Ice Bomb

Squatters: Handsome Zach’s Apricot 75

Sushi Blue: The Powder Hound

The Brass Tag: Hawkeye

Wasatch Brew Pub: Basil Trance

Windy Ridge Café: Garden-2-Glass

 

Last year, The Brass Tag’s cocktail, the Evangeline, took the top prize, beating out 17 competitors with an average score of 10 out of 10. It featured Beehive Distillery Jackrabbit Gin, cassis vinegar, basil-infused Utah honey and rose lemonade. 

 

“Online voting gives all PCARA members a chance to participate, driving business to each establishment and giving guests the opportunity to cast a vote,” Ries said. “We’re eager to see how the contest unfolds, and we can’t wait to crown the winner.”
