Alta Earth Day – Saturday, April 16, 2016

Alta, UT – March 29, 2016: Join Alta this year for its 6th annual Alta Earth Day – building awareness and appreciation for the place we call Alta.  This event is a collaborative effort by organizations and members of the Alta community – Alta Community Enrichment, Alta Ski Area - Alta Environmental Center, Cottonwood Canyons Foundation, Friends of Alta, and Town of Alta.

Alta Earth Day is a free event commemorating April 22nd with Earth Day every day.  The day will feature: Eco-minded Vendors, Naturalist Snowshoe Tours, Ski with a Ranger Tour, and Birding Tours.  Following the on-the-snow event with be an après Earth Day community gathering with local food and beverage, an opportunity drawing, some words on building environmental awareness in the community from the Town of Alta – Mayor Tom Pollard, and a feature environmental film The Little Things. “The Little Things is a snowboard movie project based on environmentally conscious riders who are inspirational through their riding, as well as their sustainable ways of living and thinking.” 

The Alta community is proud to host the following eco-minded vendors on the snow with demos and displays at Wildcat Base the day of the event from 9am to 4:30pm: 2nd Tracks, 4FRNT Ski Company, Citizen’s Climate Lobby, Coalatree, DPS Skis, DwellTek Solar Energy Solutions, Liberty Skis, Momentum Recycling, Panda Poles, Peterson Equipment with PistenBully, RAMP Sports, Soul Poles, and Surface Skis.
