Powder Mountain Resort To Host New Burton Qualifiers Snowboard Contest On January 23, 2016

EDEN, UTAH, January 6, 2015 – Powder Mountain Resortannounces that it is part of the most anticipated traveling snowboard tour of the year—the Burton Qualifiers,an all­new contest series debuting this winter with seven stops throughout North America. This one­day contest is coming to Powder Mountain January 23. This FREE series will be open to all riders with a $10,000 cash purse up for grabs as well as the opportunity to win a spot to compete in the 2016 Burton Rail Days event to be held in Asia next fall.

As host of the Burton Qualifiers, Powder Mountain Resort will be stepping up our freestyle offerings with a unique course built around Mystery Hits reflecting the defining quality of our resort. This course will be built exclusively for Burton Qualifiers participants.

The contest is open to the first 100 riders to register on the morning of the event. Registration for this free event at Powder Mountain Resortwill be from 9:00am–11:00am in the Hidden Lake Lodge. Riders will be able to register in either the Open or 15 & Under divisions. The format of the contest is jam style with riders in each division given an hour to impress the judges who will be scoring based on style and trick execution. The top three riders in each division will take home a cash prize and major bragging rights. The top six riders will also earn a spot to compete at the final event at Pennsylvania’s Seven Springs resort with more cash prizes and the chance at earning aspot to compete in the 2016 Burton Rail Days in Asia, which offers a$27,000 cash purse on the global stage.
