Snowbird Voted Best Overall Resort in North America - April 25, 2014

April 25 2014

SNOWBIRD, UT – For the second time in three years, visitors of the world’s most popular snowsports website, OnTheSnow.com, voted Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort the Best Overall Resort in North America.

“This is a true and coveted honor for some of the best resorts in North America,” said Victor Roberto, Managing Editor of OnTheSnow. “Skiers from around the world get a chance to vote for their favorites during OnTheSnow’s Visitors’ Choice Awards, and these are the industry’s top independent awards based on firsthand reviews.”

As a user-generated award, the Visitors' Choice Awards represent the collective opinion of OnTheSnow.com’s readers on how well resorts across North America delivered on the experience they expected. Over the course of the winter, the OnTheSnow community collectively posts thousands of resort reviews. Users rank resorts on a scale of 1-5 stars in five categories: Best Overall Resort, Best Resort Terrain, Best Park and Pipe and Best Family Resort.

“We are honored and elated to be recognized for the hard work of the dedicated Snowbird staff in making every guests’ experience top-notch,” said Dave Fields, Vice President of Resort Operations. “We continue to focus on creating guest experiences that are as memorable as our mountain.”

This is the second time Snowbird has been voted Best Overall Resort. Last season, Snowbird was awarded Best Terrain, and in 2012-13, the resort won awards for both Best Terrain in the Rockies and Best Overall Resort. Also this season, Powder magazine voted AltaSnowbird the Best Resort on a Powder Day, and Forbes.comvoted Snowbird the second most awesome ski resort in the U.S.

Offering the longest ski and snowboard season in Utah, Snowbird will remain open daily until May 11, conditions permitting, then Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Snowbird summer activities and Brewfest will begin June 14, 2014. For more information, contact Snowbird Communications Manager Emily Moench atemoench@snowbird.com or (801) 933-2047.
