SNOWBASIN, UT –Snowbasin Resort’s Second Annual Totally 80’s Weekend, April 12th and 13th will include an exciting addition this year: an 80’s Splash-Down Throw-Down Pond Skim. This hilarious event will be fun for spectators and participants alike. The entire weekend will be jam-packed with free 80’s themed fun and entertainment for the whole family.
All weekend long, there will be a retro 80’s photo booth on the patio and classic 80’s ski films playing in the Cinnabar. On Saturday, April 12th, enjoy live music from an 80’s tribute rock band, The Breakfast Klub, from 3-5pm on the Earl’s Lodge patio. On Sunday, April 13th, the fun continues with the 80’s Splash-Down Throw-Down Pond Skim from 10:30-2:30 above Earl’s patio. There will be several prize categories, including best crash and yard sale, best style, and best costume. Registration is free for participants in proper retro attire and is limited to the first 100 registrants. Following the pond skim and awards ceremony, a throwback dance off and 80’s costume contest will be held. Be sure to wear your best 80’s attire and bring your retro gear for a chance to win a 2014/15 Snowbasin Value Season Pass, Snowbasin Resort gift cards, swag, and more!
Snowbasin Resort regulars love the 80’s weekend tradition, which began last year. “Spring skiing at Snowbasin is always a good time, and we loved getting a little silly with our 80’s costumes last year. We are already planning our costumes for this year,” says Andrew Kase, a frequent Snowbasin Resort skier.
Snowbasin Resort’s first pond skim, a favorite spring activity at ski resorts all over the country, is sure to be an exciting and entertaining addition to the popular 80’s weekend festivities.
