Rossignol is doing a lot of progressive things with side cuts and a few other construction experiments.
Obviously 80's the Salt and Peppa board will donate a portion of sales to specific charities.
Dakine will be entering its second season of outer wear production. Thew new line is clean and crisp with lots of solids. I like!
The Custom restricted .. restricted meaning it is only sold at smaller independent shops. (note the blur effect is the actual graphic and not our editing)
The 2014 Nug ... a very popular Burton board that takes full advantage of sidecut and alternate cambers to enable a rider to utilize a board much smaller than normal.
Dakine has always been a player in the luggage game. Heres a sample of one color way for next season (I saw the same line in basic black as well)
The SIA winter convention took place in Denver the first weekend in February and I was there to check out a few of the goods. Over all, I spotted three trends in products slated for release this fall…
- Photographic top sheets … most companies had at least one or two boards with photographic top sheets. Some time collages, sometimes single pictures, and both in color or black and white.
- 80’s inspired design … lots of 80’s style graphic design ranging from images to color ways and design shapes. I saw snowboards with N.W.A graphics, Salt and Peppa graphics, Pac Man, and the list continues. Lots of angular design and crazy bright colored shapes as well that were very reminiscent of the 80’s
- Island theme … This theme was not as prevalent as the other two but it did creep up across multiple companies and products. Palm Trees, beach scenes, that sort of thing.
Anyway that’s my take on trends. Included are pictures from a few of our sponsors in which you can see these trends pop up from time to time.
