This weekend, I washed my car. My friend Tim started to remodel his house and my dad's knee began to creak. My friend Olivia burned a pair of skis and her boyfriend poured out an entire case of beer. Why, you ask? All of these rituals are signals, signs and prayers for sweet, deep and soft powder snow. Ski Utah wants to know what your snow ritual is? Looking at the forecast, it appears that a full week of snow is on its way to Utah ski and snow resorts. Let's keep our snow dances up people! It appears they are working.

Whatever you all do, can you help an east coaster...think snow on 2/1 and 2/3...all i do is keep prayin for snow on those days,,been coming out for 6 years now, and there is no greater place on earth...I am addicted to Utah!!!

Doing a yoga practice that is entirely dedicated to images of mountains smothered in soft deep layers of beautiful snow! Instead of OM at the end...SNOW-m.
Quite simply...I take out the trash. I think every time I take out the trash it snows! So get your trash together and run it to the curb for pick up. We need snow....
Some people say rituals don't work. But I completely disagree. Each time I have done my ritual it has snowed. Maybe I have some direct connection to Ullr? Or, maybe he just thinks I look rediculous and wants me to stop. Either way, here is my ritual:
First, I take a trail map and ceremoniously carry it to the freezer where I place it between two ice trays. Don't ask me why, but it works!
Then, I crank up the Warren Miller soundtrack and get into my full ski outfit. Pants, boots, jacket, gloves, helmet and goggles. Then, I grab my skis and poles and head out into the yard where a shot-ski is waiting for me. We load up the shot-ski with Ullr, from Hood River Distillery. Then we click into our skis and slam back the shot. Then . . . we go sledding!
Laugh all you want, but it works.
