The North Face Masters at Snowbird
Posted by Adam on January 29, 2009
What do you get when you mix this weekend, Snowbird, and big-name pro snowboarders? As if the blog title didn't give it away. Ladies and gentlemen I give you:
The North Face Masters of Snowboarding presented by Primaloft
January 29th-February 1st 2009 Snowbird will cater to the snowboarders battling it out for a $15,000 cash purse. Wait...that could buy me a used Honda Pilot! I'm should enter!
North Baldy will be the final playground and Silver Fork will kickoff the first day of this friendly snow scrimmage. If you can't make it to the slopes to watch lay some treats on The North Face Masters site for updates and other goodies to keep you stoked.
“Snowbird’s big mountain terrain gives both competitors and spectators a great venue for an event the caliber of The North Face Masters. We’re looking forward to seeing these talented athletes show off their skills on the best Snowbird has to offer."
- Snowbird President Bob Bonar
Let the games...err battle begin.

Gotta Love Alta
Posted by Adam on January 2, 2009
70 years strong Alta is still a Wasatch Range favorite. Make sure to snag one of these stickers at the ticket office. What a better way to start off the New Year then an un-crowded day on Collins and the loaf? Ok and do you want to hear the coolest thing in the world? The Supreme lift now has this crazy conveyor belt that literally puts you on the lift. It is trippy no doubt but also kinda nice. I would have gotten a video of its crazy workings but my battery died on my camera.
Off of Collins it was blowing pretty hard, almost to the point I could have parachuted over to Park City for lunch. The snow was still pretty good even though the storms have been dormant for a week. Don't rule out skiing at Alta or anywhere for that matter even though the mountains aren't getting slammed with fresh pow.
Skiing at Alta
Posted by Adam on November 22, 2008
Here at Alta today. It's pretty fun for early season and with how the snow has or hasn't been falling. The alta team has done a great job at delivering good coverage so your pretty little bases won't get wrecked. Oh and it's nice snagging some wifi from the goldminers daughter to try out this iPhone blog app from wordpress.
The snow is definitely fun to ski when it warms up. I mean really folks a fun day skiing is better then a fun day at work. I am very impressed with Alta's green initiatives by keeping their ticket system electronic and making their passes reusable.
