First Snow - September 30, 2009
Posted by Tim on September 30, 2009
It's snowing in the mountains. Utah's resorts are getting their first snow of the season. A few inches fell overnight and it looks like we should be getting another 7-11 inches today and a few more overnight. Temps should stay cold and we could get another shot of precipitation over the weekend. Click here for the NWS Forecast for Brighton, UT.

Planning a Thanksgiving ski trip. Which mountain usually opens the earliest? Are conditions generally OK?

YES!
Hi Tom. We usually shoot to have all resorts open by Thanksgiving, but, that depends somewhat on the weather. Usually Alta, Brighton, Snowbird, and Solitude are good bets because of their higher altitude and large amounts of snow. Park City, The Canyons, and Snowbasin all do pretty well with snow too, and have extensive snow making systems.
