July 3rd Celebration at Canyons Resort with partnership "People's Health Clinic"

PARK CITY, Utah – Canyons Resort is pleased to announced a grander July 3^rd Celebration in partnership with People’s Health Clinic, the community-supported, volunteer-driven medical clinic that serves Wasatch and Summit counties.

The annual Celebration festivities will kick off at 3 p.m., when the grassy area opens for guests in front of the Mountain stage at Ski Beach.  Free family-oriented music and activities throughout the Resort Village will commence at 3 p.m., including a bicycle parade, carnival games, face-painting, multiple food and beverage outlets and more. 

Last year’s wildly popular performers, The Soulistics, return to once again headline the concert starting at 7:30 p.m. The Salt Lake City-based band combines powerful horns, a rocking rhythm section and searing vocals to bring the music of funk greats like James Brown, Aretha Franklin and Earth Wind & Fire to their shows. The fireworks display will follow at approximately 9:30 p.m.

To help accommodate the largest crowd of the summer, Canyons is collecting $5 per car in the Cabriolet lot.  All net proceeds from parking will be donated to People’s Health Clinic. Parking passes can pre-purchased online, beginning immediately, by visiting www.canyonsresort.com/events.  

“Every year, thousands of people descend on Canyons for our great July 3^rd celebration,” said Mike Goar, Canyons’ managing director.  “To try to preempt the large volume of traffic late in the day, we have lined up an entire afternoon of activities.  We have also partnered with People’s Health Clinic volunteers to help us manage the traffic flow – and the result is they will receive all of the net proceeds from the parking lot. We encourage car pooling, bicycling and use of Park City’s free transportation system, but we find that it’s inevitable that people will drive to the resort.”

Reservations are also encouraged for Canyons’ extensive new lineup of mid-mountain adventures (including Canyons Bike Park, Zip Tour, alpine lake, guided hiking and disc golf), which will operate as normal on July 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Visit www.canyonsresort.com for a variety of summer packages featuring lodging, dining and adventures.
