Compared to hotels in the “big city”, when you stay with us you’ll find that you save enough to add another day to your trip. And you’d save enough to stay a few more days when compared to prices at ski resort properties. Your money definitely goes further here.

The other half of the secret is the local ski areas. Snowbasin is only 20 minutes from your Layton hotel and the poshness of it will blow you away. Powder Mountain is about 40 minutes – and it’s a completely different – yet incredible experience. You’ve never heard of Snowbasin or Powder Mountain? The locals want it that way. Take a look at peer reviews for both resorts on TripAdvisor.com  or Yelp.com – and you will want to experience what all the excitement is about…. Great rates, no lines, untracked powder, or groomed cruisers: this IS the place. More runs for your money. Since there is little slope-side lodging, our Layton properties are the closest urban hotels to Snowbasin – and almost as close to PowMow

Our southern (Bountiful area) hotels are less than 10 minutes by freeway from downtown SLC hotels, yet you’ll find better accommodations at better rates when you stay at the Best Western PLUS CottonTree Inn, Country Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites,  Comfort Inn & Suites or other local hotels. They also include a full breakfast and discounted  lift vouchers with your room. Like the Layton hotels, parking is free, yet the southern hotels also offer shuttles to/from the airport. You can be to Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird or Alta in about 30 minutes. Only slightly longer than if you were in SLC.

All the hotels allow you to go in any direction: north (PowMow, Snowbasin & Wolf Mtn), east (Park City resorts) or south (Ski SL resorts). It bears repeating: when you stay in Davis County, you’re within a half-hour to an hour of ten of Utah’s best ski resorts!

Our mobile website www.visitdavis.mobi is a great companion for visitors. It tells of specials in the area, allows GPS to point out how close attractions are, and answers a lot of questions.

Do you want to take a day off to rest your legs? Visit the Hill Aerospace Museum at Hill AFB, featuring nearly 100 aircraft from bi-wings to the latest spy planes and fighters.  Or you can explore Antelope Island State Park and see the herd of over 500 bison, as well as dozens of species of birds, pronghorn, mule deer and mountain sheep. For a magical memory: rent horses and ride across the plains (not on a trail) side-by-side on the island. The views of the animals, the mountains, the lake itself and the skyline of Salt Lake City are incredible. You can also spend a day or evening playing at one of our amusement parks, like Boondocks in Kaysville. In the spring, golf at any of our 10 public courses to finish off your day.

The county has over 350 restaurants, more than 70 movie screens, local live theater, bars and lounges, and our own brew pub. There’s shopping at a mall with more than 100 stores, or at a number of “marketplaces” featuring everything from the big boxes to boutiques.
