The Living Planet Aquarium

The Living Planet Aquarium is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicated to cultivating public interest in the environment, conservation, and the enhancement of our planet and its creatures through adoption, education, research and recreation.

The Living Planet offers many education programs within the community. The two educational outreach programs, The Utah Waters Van, and the Rainforest Van, visit Utah elementary school students throughout the school year. This year´s programs will educate students and teachers alike by bringing free, core-curriculum designed, hands-on learning to over 51,000 students around the state, including every 4th grader statewide.

On April 19, 2009, the aquarium reached one million visitors since opening the preview exhibit at The Gateway in 2004. It has surely become one of Utah´s most unique and popular attractions, and is definitely a must-see if you are planning a trip to Utah. Exhibits feature sharks, rays, seahorses, jellyfish as well as octopus, eels, starfish, amphibians, trout and other freshwater species, providing a unique opportunity for the many landlocked Utahans, particularly children, who have not previously had the chance to interact with such creatures. There are lots of things to see and do at The Living Planet Aquarium!
