Thousand Peaks Ranch - Park City Utah

Park City Utah Snowcat Skiing Park City Powder Cats operates just minutes outside of Park City on over 40,000 acres of privately owned land in the Uinta Mountains called The Thousand Peaks Ranch.

Other than the Brooks Range in Alaska, the Uintas are the most prominent east/west range in the United States with almost a dozen peaks exceeding 13,000 feet. The Uinta Wilderness encompasses 457,000 acres of mountainous terrain with 40,000 acres of its best ski terrain right in our own backyard! With our base of operations at 7,600 feet to the soaring top of Windy Peak at nearly 11,000 feet, we’re able to enjoy a wide variety of terrain that includes incredible open bowls, steep chutes and some of the best tree skiing in all of Utah. Heliskiing Utah

With mountain aspects that favor strong weather patterns, we enjoy over 400 inches of incredible Utah powder each year. Our private ski resort is larger than Vail, Aspen, and Killington combined.

With such an enormous amount of terrain at our disposal, we’re able to offer expert skiers and boarders a crack at the steeps of “Warren Miller Chutes”, wild rides on the “Dark Side” or steep and deep bowls like “Giant Steps”. For those less advanced riders, or for those just looking for a fun powder day, we have plenty of gentle slopes, expansive bowls, and open tree skiing to enjoy.

Getting Here

We are located on the beautiful Thousand Peaks Ranch, north-east of Park City. The 27-mile drive to the ranch takes well maintained roads with little traffic.

Ability

We ski in a wild and natural mountain environment. To ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable day and do not hinder the members of your group, you must be an advanced skier/rider. If you have not done backcountry skiing/riding, a reasonable comparison would be that you can comfortably ski/ride most terrain types in variable conditions at resorts in the western states.
