sundance resort author series

Sundance Resort is excited to begin the 10th year of our popular Author Series events. We strive to find thought provoking authors whose books embody the spirit of Sundance. Through the years the resort has brought authors such as Jimmy Carter, Madeleine Albright, Greg Mortenson, Ann Patchett, Kathryn Stockett, and many more. We bring in writers from all walks of life to discuss a variety of issues and create a forum for ideas, inspiration and creativity. This year promises to bring innovative ideas and invigorating conversation.

About the author:

Williams' graceful, meditative essays illuminate truth as only she can in her own soulful and eloquent voice. “Once upon a time,” Terry Tempest Williams writes in her new book, “when women were birds, there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy.” When Women Were Birds is about owning one's own voice and the responsibility that brings.

Terry Tempest Williams is the author of 14 books, including Refuge, Leap, The Open Space of Democracy, and most recently, Finding Beauty in a Broken World. She is also the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship and a Lannan Literary Fellowship in creative nonfiction. In 2006, Williams received the Robert Mashall Award from the Wilderness Society, their highest honor given to an American citizen.
