Most outdoor enthusiasts dream of getting married in the fresh mountain air. I too had that dream and was able to fulfill it this summer at Deer Valley Resort. My husband Matt and I did a lot of research before deciding where to tie the knot and I thought I'd share what we found with you. With so many unique mountain resorts and wedding venues in Utah, it was difficult to choose the one for us. Below you'll find my research and I hope it will help you make your decision easy!

Wedding Party

Solitude Mountain Resort offers gorgeous mountain scenery in Big Cottonwood Canyon and a variety of charming lodges and ceremony locations to host a wedding size anywhere from 25-300 guests. Reception venues include Last Chance, St. Bernard's, Moonbeam Lodge, The Inn, and Honeycomb Grill. Solitude Resort Lodging has comfortable hotel rooms, condominiums, and homes for rent for your wedding party and guests to stay in, along with a pampering spa to ensure relaxation before the wedding wildness!

Snowbird has over 15 customizable ceremony and reception options to represent each unique couple. Anywhere from rustic to modern, indoor to outdoor, and fancy to laid back, Snowbird can set the stage. You'll also find possibly the highest wedding venue in Utah atop Hidden Peak. With award-winning cuisine and highly trained chef's they are up to deliver any challenge or food choice. The Cliff Spa provides beauty treatments and hairstyles to prep for walking down the aisle. Your guests with love the fitness studio and classes, along with the rooftop pool and hot tub!

Snowbasin Resort has two magnificent lodges and numerous outdoor locations for a truly memorable occasion, including scenic gondola rides to one of their ceremony sites! Wedding packages can be tailored to you, along with the meal plan by the award-winning catering team. Your guests will love the picturesque atmosphere and every detail about Snowbasin!

Powder Mountain has four spectacular locations to host your big event in an intimate setting! Valley Lodge, Skylodge, Arbor Lodge and Bower Lodge. All beautifully designed with vaulted ceilings, outdoor patios, and panoramic views!

Sundance Mountain Resort provides a secluded and stunning location that instantly makes you feel tranquil and at peace in nature; a wonderful feeling for a wedding day. Enjoy the sounds of waterfalls, streams, and seeing the views of Mount Timpanogos. Add some adventure to your stay with zip lining, horseback riding, hiking, or zen out with yoga and spa treatments with your guests.

Park City Mountain has four incredible venues for your "I do's" on the mountain. Red Pine Lodge, Lookout Cabin, newly renovated Mid-Mountain Lodge and Legacy Lodge. They provide customizable catering options and lodging with group room rates. Also having options to take a gondola or chairlift ride up, and the Alpine Slide down, a Park City Mountain wedding will surely be one to remember!

Deer Valley Resort has many wonderful options for a wedding ceremony and reception. Cushing's Cabin, Snow Park Lodge, Empire Canyon Lodge, and Silver Lake Lodge. Each beautiful and unique with a weather plan to implement if necessary. We chose Silver Lake Lodge for our cocktail hour and reception with our ceremony held on Bald Mountain. Taking the chairlift up to the ceremony was quite special for the Bride and Groom and the guests!

While Alta Ski Area does not host weddings, several of the lodges at the base of the resort have amazing event spaces. The Snowpine Lodge, Alta Peruvian Lodge and Alta Lodge all are great choices for a scenic wedding in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Were Married

We want to say a big thank you to Deer Valley for taking care of us on our big day and we wish you all the best in choosing your wedding venue.
