Look, we get it. As a parent, you’ve become super accustomed to compromise. Drive a respectable, crumb-free car? Or bring a few snacks and maintain world peace in the backseat? Binge watch season six of Game of Thrones and feel like death in the morning? Or go to bed on a cliffhanger and feel like an actual human when your kids wake you up at 5:45 am? Skiing that famous Snowbird terrain on a powder day with your crew? Or flipping a coin with your significant other to see who “gets” to rip it up on the bunny hill with your groms on a storm day?
Snowbird doesn’t believe you should have to compromise on a ski day. Whether you are a seasoned veteran of the mountain or are wanting to check out some of Utah’s classic terrain for the first time, the Snowbird Mountain School makes sure that everybody in your family will have an excellent day (and will leave everybody begging for more).
If you’re a Utah local (or have spent a little time on SkiUtah.com) you probably know that Snowbird has the reputation for being home to some of the steepest terrain in Utah. Don’t let that reputation scare you away! 65% of the mountain is considered beginner and intermediate terrain. Intermediate level skiers can find some long cruisy runs from the top of the tram and beginner skiers will find terrain all across the mountain to develop their skills. While Snowbird is beloved by families for their lodging, dining, and for their heated outdoor pool après scene, many families come to Snowbird for the Snowbird Mountain School.
Whether you want to introduce your three-year-old to skiing, help your older kids take it to the next level, find a women's specific class to sharpen your skills, or have decided that you’re FINALLY ready to learn to ski as an adult, the Snowbird Mountain School has got you covered.
The Snowbird Mountain School has recently relocated to the newly renovated Creekside Lodge. The amazing new facility is a one stop shop for a day of mountain education. Students have a private entrance allowing for easy access to the new 500 foot “Thunder Tube”, which delivers them directly to some of the best beginner terrain off of the Baby Thunder Chairlift. Think: EASY ACCESS. Staying at the Cliff Lodge? The Snowbird Center still offers onsite lessons and services for guests.
While you're out getting face shots, exploring the mountain, and having the grown up ski experience you've been dreaming of all season, your little ones might just be getting a leg up on your ski skills while they are in the Snowbird Mountain School. They'll be riding the tram with you before you know it. And watch out, pretty soon YOU will be trying to keep up with THEM as they cruise those classic Snowbird lines.
