Wasatch Adaptive Sports (WAS) believes in the development of ability, independence and active living through recreational, educational and social programs for children, adults, and veterans with adaptive needs. Each program is guided by highly trained instructors that work to meet the unique needs and goals of every individual. WAS programs include private instruction in skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cycling, mountain biking, paddle boarding, kayaking and more with a mission to help every individual realize their potential. Other programs include a rental program, veterans program, social activities, and group cycling rides.
Eighty-five percent of our 2,590 annual lessons are on full-scholarship; no expense is passed on to the participant or their family. Among our largest sustainers that make these scholarships possible are Snowbird Resort and the Forever Young Foundation. Partners in our mission include healthcare providers from rehabilitation teams at Primary Children’s Hospital, Utah Neuro Rehabilitation, Utah Valley Stroke Association, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Salt Lake County Youth Services, Intermountain Medical Center, and the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Taking the ski bus to Utah’s resorts is the relaxing, affordable and sustainable way to enjoy yourmountain commute.
