The Difference of 80 Miles

With 10 ski resorts a little over an hour from the Salt Lake International Airport, you'd think that the weather and storms would be pretty similar day to day.  Not so.

Take for example that On Sunday Snowbasin received 2 FEET of snow while the Cottonwood Resorts (Alta, Brighton, Snowbird, Solitude) saw a couple of inches.

To further illustrate the point, earlier today I was looking at the various mountain cameras and found that while Alta's mountain cam was showing bluebird skies, Snowbasin's mountain cam was showing clouds and snow flurries. I did a triple take thinking it couldn't be.

Check the time stamps - just 1 minute apart!  It's amazing to see the difference 80 miles can make.
