Local Lexi

Lexi is a 5th generation Utahan who applies a zealous fanaticism to her passion for skiing. Lexi had little choice in the matter of becoming a skier when she was plunked down on snow at age 3. As a child, she always accompanied her dad to work at Snowbird and was unceremoniously kicked out the door to amuse herself and her little sister for the day out on the mountain. With Snowbird and Alta regularly serving as unsupervised daycare, she developed a special attachment to the mountains that raised her.

In addition to writing for Ski Utah, Lexi produces our Fixed Grip Chronicles film series and serves as the Studio Manager for Sweetgrass Productions here in Salt Lake City. She also supports legendary ski map painter Jim Niehues in his marketing and social media efforts.

When the pandemic shut the ski industry down in 2020, Lexi picked up a paintbrush and taught herself how to paint with watercolors. She paints desert and mountain scenes inspired by Utah and the Mountain West, often with snowmelt she collects as snow off the slopes of ski areas.
