Opening its slopes in 2019, Woodward Park City is Utah’s newest ski area, though it’s nothing like the others. The facility itself might seem modest with just one quad chairlift and one carpet for easily lapping your favorite park features—but don’t let that fool you. With robust terrain parks for all levels, tubing lanes providing all–age fun, and world-class indoor training facilities (trampolines, foam pits, a skatepark, and more), it’s impossible to get bored here. Woodward Park City is a haven for terrain park thrill seekers, family memory makers, and explorers all at once.
Located right outside of Park City, Utah, it’s less than 30 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City to the campus. Woodward Park City opens its facilities for both day and night riding and playing, meaning you can go in the morning for a full day of fun or even make a quick jaunt over after work or school. Parking is free and right off of I-80, meaning less stress and more riding.
The large park in particular offers advanced athletes opportunities to practice their competition-level tricks on a 22’ halfpipe. For quick sessions, Red's Backyard offers a variety of features for varying skill levels, designed in collaboration with Olympic Gold Medalist Red Gerard. The Peace Park, designed in collaboration with Danny Davis, offers skiers and riders a chance to focus on transition, creativity, flow and fun. Because of the wide mix and range of expertly built features, friends and family members of all skill levels can ride the chair together, ski their preferred line, and then rejoin at the base before doing it all again.
If keeping it mellow is more your vibe, enjoy friendlier thrills on Utah's longest tubing lanes. Accessible via two magic carpets, the tubing lanes offer simple but fun laughs and memories for people of all ages and experience levels. Enjoy two hours of sliding, then warm up afterward with a coffee, a hot chocolate, or a cocktail at The Grind Cafe. Reservations are strongly encouraged on weekends as this experience oftentimes sells out.
On-mountain terrain is just the tip of the iceberg at Woodward Park City. What truly sets it apart is the Action Sports Hub. Featuring an expansive indoor skatepark that allows for sessions in all seasons, airbag and foam pit ramps to practice getting air, trampolines to master your spins, and a pump track to play, it offers endless opportunities to explore and progress. To top it off, tumble mats, a parkour area, and even a Micro Clubhouse designed for small children allows for more opportunities to try new tricks. Not sure where to start?
