Head for the hills.

It’s no secret that Utah is home to The Greatest Snow on Earth®, but what you might not know is just how easy it is to get to the slopes when visiting Davis. Conveniently located within an hour’s drive of nine world-class ski resorts, Davis is the perfect basecamp for your winter adventures. Snowbasin Resort is a local favorite and just a quick 30-minute ride from Layton. Skiers and snowboarders can get from Layton to Snowbasin without having to make the drive by riding the UTA Ski Bus 677. With 3,000-acres of phenomenal terrain, Snowbasin is known for its uncrowded slopes that accommodate all levels of skiers.

Go exploring.

Anytime you need to scratch that exploring itch, adventuring on Antelope Island State Park will do the trick. Choose your own hiking, biking, horseback riding or camping adventure on the 28,000-acre island that features a 7.2-mile causeway and over 45 miles of backcountry trails with varying levels of difficulty. Park visitors are treated to a one-of-a-kind wildlife spotting experience, including free-ranging bison, pronghorn (antelope), mule deer, bighorn sheep and many other desert animals. Millions of birds congregate along the shores surrounding the island, offering unparalleled opportunities for birding. Annual wildlife watching events, including Great Salt Lake Bird Festival and Bison Roundup entertain guests of all ages.
