*Operational Status*
Your tour's operational status can not be confirmed until 4-6pm the day prior to your reservation date.

A typical Deer Valley departure begins at 8:30 AM inside The Residences at The Chateaux, located at Deer Valley's Silver Lake Village (the upper village at Deer Valley). Your guides will meet you downstairs in the Residences's Clubhouse room. During the meeting you can expect to learn about the day ahead, disucssing weather expections, routes, avalanche conditions and backcountry etiquette. Before heading outside you will be outfitted with a Ski Utah Gold Pass and an avalanche transceiver along with a brief overview of how to operate the avalanche beacon. Your're are more than welcome to leave any gear behind in the Clubhouse lockers, shoes, bags, etc.

Enjoying some fresh turns

Your morning on skis will start off by boarding the Sterling Express lift around 9:00 AM followed by a few laps as your guides evaluate abilities and while you take advantage of early morning conditions. Once warmed up you'll make your way to the top of either Empire Express or Lady Morgan chairs for your first rope drop of the day. Before exiting the resort guides will check in with Deer Valley Resort Ski Patrol and then it's off on your way toward Park City Mountain. Once inbounds at Park City Mountain you'll make your way to the top of the Jupiter Chair where the guides will check-in with Park City Mountain Ski Patrol. Then it's off the backside of Park City as we make our way down into Big Cottonwood Canyon where you'll enjoy a few short backcountry descents, a few short traverses before coming out to the base of Solitude Mountain Resort.

Once at the The Village at Solitude, you'll stop for a quick bathroom and water break before choosing the next objective. It's common to take several runs at Solitude before making your way to the top of the Summit chair, and then descend via the upper SolBright trail over to Brighton Ski Resort. Your time at Brighton is often brief as there is a lot of terrain to cover in a relatively small amount of time. From Brighton you will return to Solitude by way of lower SolBright where a well-earned lunch break is waiting. (Lunch is included in with your reservation)

Walking Out Catherines Pass

After lunch it's up to the top of Solitude Resort aboard the Summit chair. Upon unloading guides will check-in with Solitude Ski Patrol beforing heading towards a dramatic out-of-bounds traverse, sidestepping across the "Highway to Heaven" as you make yourway to the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, referred to as Twin Lakes Pass. Another long backcountry descent puts you at the upper base of Alta Ski Area. From there you'll work your way to the top of the Sugarloaf chair, then pass through the Mineral Basin gate and, voila, you're at Snowbird, the final resort of the day.

But don't worry, there's still plenty of great skiing as you make your way to the bottom of Mineral Basin, up the Mineral Basin Express chairlift that drops you off at 11,000' atop Snowbird's Hidden Peak. This leaves you with sevearl decent options, all of which consist of a 3,000' descent to the base of Snowbird.

Brian skiing the goods

After a few high-5's you can finally relax. Congratulations! You've completed the skiing portion of the Interconnect Tour. From the plaza you'll have a comfortable amount of time to use the restroom, grab a few beverages and/or snacks from Snowbird's General Grits store before boarding transporation. The return from Snowbird to the Chateaux Residences usually takes about 45-60 minutes, which is plenty of time to swap pictures, recount the day and relax your legs.
