Take the John Paul Express Chair up the mountain and explore the geological remnants of an ancient ocean floor while enjoying the majestic view at 9000 feet, then spend the night under the stars after a delicious cookout and wake up to a gourmet breakfast.

Camping - Snowbasin style! This one of a kind event will go overnight with appetizers, education, libations, campfire, dinner, and live guitar music during the evening and then a hearty breakfast will be served in the morning before heading back down the mountain. This will be one of the most unique dining and exploration events in all of Utah. Dinner will be prepared over an ‘open fire’ with Dutch ovens and spits with only the highest quality ingredients. Guests will be able to help prepare items if they would like. Guests will be able to set up camp either inside or outside the John Paul Lodge.

The event includes all food, beverage, and transportation up the mountain. This is a Dining Discovery Culinary Expedition experience of a lifetime.  $125 is all-inclusive and includes all taxes and gratuity. Limited to the first 45 reservations. See menu HERE.

Lift ride up John Paul chair 4:30pm-8pm while all gear and supplies will be trucked up the mountain. Last ride down 9pm if you choose not to camp over. Ride down at 9:30am the next morning.

Other information and FAQ:

How do we get to the Lodge: The lift will be running from 4:30pm until 8pm for uploading. Gear, unless it’s a small bag, will be trucked up to the lodge where you will receive it. The loading of gear will take place at the base of the lift.

Is this event formal: NO. It’s very casual. Mountain casual. Dress like you would for a camping trip. Do not bring high heels or dress shoes. Dress for varying weather and conditions.

We want to leave and not spend the night: There will be a last ride down on the lift only at 9:15pm will be last call down.

Can we bring children: For their safety, it’s not a good idea to bring children under the age of 12.

Will there be beverages for sale: No, it’s all included in the price. You will not have to worry about food or beverage.

Can we bring a trailer: No. No driving on the mountain.

Can we bring a big canvas tent: No, please keep tents to 4 person tents max. Space will be tight.

Can we pitch our tent in the lodge: Yes, the basement of JP will be part of the camping area. First come first served.

When can we ride down the next day: We will have breakfast at 7am, and the lift will run from 8am-10:30am. You are also welcome to hike down.

Can we walk down the mountain at night: No. Once it is dark, and you are situated in your camp and the lift stops, you cannot go down unless special circumstances are made.
