50K is not that far.
The Speedgoat race takes trail runners over some of Snowbird's toughest trails. Deemed one of the toughest 50k's in the world, the Speedgoat delivers a spectacular course with wildflowers galore and scenic mountain vistas in all directions. New this year, the Speedgoat is offering a 78k, 61k, and a smaller, 11k race for all abilities in addition to the 28k and 50k races.
The course starts and ends at Creekside Lodge.

11k Course

28k Race
July 22: The race starts at 7:30 am.
Course Details: The 28K course is held on the exact same trails as the signature 50k route, This race makes its first ascent to the summit of Snowbird, accruing 4500’ along the way on a series of 5 separate climbs. After a quick descent thru the Snowbird Tunnel and halfway down Peruvian Gulch, the trail then turns back uphill on the Ridge Trail back to the Summit. The final descent has one “bump” climb of 500’, then It’s all downhill on a techy and smooth bike trail back to Creekside. 6400’ Climb, all technical terrain.
50k Race
July 23: Race starts at 6:30 am.
Course Details: The first ascent to the Summit of Snowbird is a series of 5 climbs, gaining a total of 4500’ at mile 9.2 A long descent awaits to the Pacific Mine Aid station, with a 3400’ descent over rocky singletrack. After Pacific Mine aid station at mile 15.5, a 3000’ climb up a technical ATV road over the top of “miller hill”. A short descent to the Mineral Basin aid station brings mile 21. The next climb from the Mineral Basin aid station goes over Baldy Summit. 2000’ in 1.7 miles. The tunnel aid station is at mile 24. Descent Peruvian Gulch trail then turn up the Ridge Trail and climb again 1500’ to Hidden Peak summit. The final descent has one “bump” climb of 500’, then rocky singletrack and smooth bike trail to the finish.
