Wasatch Adaptive Sports is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing year-round recreational activities to individuals with adaptive needs.

Wasatch Adaptive Sports (WAS) believes in the development of ability, independence and active living through recreational, educational and social programs. Each of the sixteen programs we offer are geared specifically toward individuals with mobility limitations due to medical and neurological conditions including stroke, amputation, spina bifida, cerebral palsy and acquired brain injury. We teach skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, cycling, mountain biking, paddle boarding, fishing, camping and more with a mission to help every individual realize their potential beyond a diagnosis.

Ninety-five percent of our 3,345 annual lessons are on full-scholarship; no expense is passed on to the participant or their family. Among our largest sustainers that make these scholarships possible are Snowbird Resort and the Forever Young Foundation. Partners in our mission include healthcare providers from rehabilitation teams at the University of Utah Hospital, Primary Children’s Hospital, Utah Neuro Rehabilitation, Shriner’s Hospital for Children and the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
