The Goldener Hirsch beat out five other top finalists from Park City, Jackson Hole, Telluride and Beaver Creek.

The World Ski Awards, part of the World Travel Awards, recognize hotels for elevating “the ski-tourist customer experience” and “stimulating both the domestic and international ski-tourism markets.” More than a million votes from across the globe were cast this year in the two months polls were open.

The Goldener Hirsch Inn and the winners in other categories, such as Best Ski Resort and Best Ski Chalet, were crowned this past weekend at a three-day awards ceremony in Kitzbühel, Austria— just 50 miles from the Goldener Hirsch’s namesake and inspiration, the Hotel Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg, Austria.
