Park City, Utah (December 18, 2013) – Park City Mountain Resort celebrates its 50th anniversary this Saturday, December 21 – 50 years to the day since it opened in 1963 – with a day-long celebration half a century in the making.
A full program of events includes a ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony and guest remarks, live music, DJ’s in the resort base area, birthday cupcakes, a free concert by Robert Randolph and the Family Band and a fireworks display.
Special golden anniversary giveaways will pop up around the mountain throughout the day with souvenirs including commemorative “50th” t-shirts, socks, hats, coffee mugs and more.
“It’s been a special privilege for all of us at Park City Mountain Resort to share 50 incredible years with our guests, local residents, neighbors and the town of Park City,” said Jenni Smith, president and general manager of Park City Mountain Resort. “We’re excited to celebrate half a century of skiing and snowboarding, this Saturday and all season long, with all of our guests whether they’ve been with us for the whole ride or are visiting for the first time.”
