Alta Earth Day Celebration – April 15, 2017

March 24 2017

Alta, UT – March 2017: Join Alta’s 8th annual Alta Earth Day to celebrate another great winter ski season and gather to recognize all that Alta offers: natural resources, beautiful landscapes, and a caring active community.  “We are so proud to be a part of a community that cares about the snow and the land and not just the skiing; and we are even more pleased that this community wants to learn more and be a part of more in taking care of our natural resources, industry and ecosystem” states Maura Olivos, Alta Ski Area’s sustainability coordinator.  To pursue the community’s motto building awareness and appreciation for the place we call Alta, the day’s celebration includes a well-rounded offering and introduction to environmentally conscious vendors, organizations and activates.

Alta Earth Day is a free event commemorating April 22nd with Earth Day Every day.  The day will comprise of eco-geared ski and goods vendors, non-profits, naturalist snowshoe tour, Ski with a Ranger Tour, Alta birding tour, and après Earth Day community gathering featuring the environmental ski film Last Tracks, and Climate Change Impacts on the Wasatch Range presentation by Emily Nicolosi – PhD Student from the University of Utah, as well as a fantastic opportunity drawing.

The Alta community is pleased to host the eco-geared vendors on the snow with demos and displays at Wildcat Base the day of the event from 9am to 4:30pm.  Featured vendors include 4FRNT, Auric Solar, Coalatree Organics, KUHL, DPS Skis, Liberty Skis, Momentum Recycling, Panda Poles, Peterson EquipmentPistenBully, Trader Joe’s, and TreeUtah.
