August Activities at Snowbasin Resort

August 1 2018

SNOWBASIN, Utah (July 31, 2018) - Snowbasin Resort has activities happening all through August that shouldn’t be missed. From the jamming music scene with TrouBeliever Fest, Blues, Brews & BBQ, and a second symphony performance, to the annual dark sky viewing night and Bark at the Basin fundraiser for Best Friends Animal Society, to the extension of Movies on the Mountain with two new showings, to the new mini golf course and kids adventure course now open, and summer workshops; it’s time to head to the mountains.

The music scene is on fire in August. TrouBeliever Fest kicks off the month on Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4th with headliners Rodney Crowell and Emmy Lou Harris. Guests can buy tickets

online or at the resort. The free Blues, Brews & BBQ continues throughout the whole month every Sunday from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm with great bands including Dirty Revival, Red Molly, Jon Wayne and the Pain, Jelly Bread and more. New this season, the Utah Symphony is coming back to Snowbasin for a second performance on Tuesday, August 7th with an evening filled with Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald tunes. Tickets can be purchased for the Symphony on their website.

Annual favorites Dark Sky Viewing and Bark at the Basin fall the second weekend in August. Friday night, Snowbasin will run Needles Gondola during the Perseid Meteor Shower. Guests can purchase scenic gondola tickets for just $14 to get the chance to view the dark sky from 9,000 feet in the mountains. Snowbasin encourages guests to bring their own telescopes or binoculars for a closer look into the dark sky. Sunday, August 12 bring your furry friends for Snowbasin’s annual Bark at the Basin. Register for the 5K to help raise money for Best Friends Animal Society. Registration is $30 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm followed by a 5K around Snowbasin. Each registration is good for up to two pets. After the 5K Snowbasin invites everyone to their free Blues, Brews & BBQ with the pups.

With the success of Movies on the Mountain this season, Snowbasin has extended the free Monday movies with bonus showings – August 13 featuring Star Wars – The Last Jedi and August 20 featuring The Avengers – Infinity War. The Kids Zone including the new Adventure Course opens at 4:30 pm and stays open until dusk. Earl’s Lodge is open for dining and the Plaza Pick-Me-Up Cart offers snacks until half way through the movie. So bring blankets, chairs, jackets and the crew to enjoy a movie on the big screen every Monday night through August 20.

The construction is complete on the mini golf course and the kids’ adventure course. Snowbasin is excited to offer 18 holes of mini golf for just $10 located in the base area. It’s a great activity for kids and adults on Saturdays, Sundays, and Monday evenings. Guests can get the putters and balls in the Grizzly Center at the activities desk. The official grand opening celebration will be Saturday, August 11th. The new Kids Adventure Course is part of the Kids Zone. Kids have the opportunity to speed through a low

ropes course while harnessed in. This is great addition to the bungee trampoline and rock climbing wall from before.

The Saturday Summer Workshops are a great excuse to escape the valley to play in the mountains with a guided activity for adults every Saturday. Workshops include yoga fundamentals, trailside bike maintenance, trail running, and painting in nature. With the variety of subjects, guests should find one that is of interest.
